Nike was now in its fourth season supplying the kits to Oxford United.
The shirt sponsors remained unchained, however, in an unusual move, Bridle Insurance ended their sponsorship early (see details below).
This was to be the final season with N-Power featuring as The Football League sponsors.

A plain collared shirt, reminiscent of a polo shirt, was selected for the home kit.
Unusually for Oxford United, the home strip was ‘all yellow’, something not seen since the 1974-75 season.
There was no apparent reason for the away variations to ever be worn, as there was no colour clash with the opposing team. Perhaps the kit man simply grew tired of the all-yellow look!

Nike’s ‘Chevron’ shirt template was chosen as the change shirt. This was a popular design with both fans and other teams in the football leagues.
Because of the narrow width of the chevron ‘V’, the club crest on these shirts was a smaller (junior) size.

Bridle terminated their sponsorship mid-season and requested the removal of their name from the shirts. Officially, this decision was attributed to Bridle wanting to focus on their new ownership of Eastleigh FC.
However, most supporters saw through this PR spin and speculated that Bridle Insurance was dissatisfied with the controversial signing of goalkeeper Luke McCormick, who had recently served a sentence for causing two deaths due to dangerous driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Fans voted from a choice of three nominated local charities to feature on the shirts for the remainder of the season. From 16th February, the Sobell House logo featured on all match shirts.
