Club Crest
A brand new club crest was introduced, featuring the now-familiar Ox that remains a part of the club identity today.
This Minoan Ox "Emblem" was painted in watercolour in July 1978 by club director Desmond Morris, who was also a renowned zoologist and author in the field of human sociobiology.
Shirt Crest
The crest was applied to the shirts on a circular embroidered patch.

sleeves
Once again the Admiral shirts saw subtle changes to those worn the previous season.
The flared and pointed collars that featured in 1978 were given a less obtrusive cut, plus the colours on the v-neck were reversed.
The long-sleeved shirts also featured a different design of cuff.
