The club have been hit with an EFL transfer embargo, preventing them from registering any new players. This was imposed because the club were unable to comply with the league's Salary Cost Management Protocol regulations following relegation from the Championship.
Shirt Crest
Whilst the pinstripes were removed from the official club crest, the kit went a step further by featuring the iconic Minoan Ox.
Instead of traditional printing or embroidery, the crest is applied as a silicone (TPU) heat transfer, giving it a slightly waxy texture and a bold three-dimensional appearance.

This will be Macron's fifth season with Oxford United, with the previous four-year contract being extended.
Sponsors
Baxi remain as principal sponsors, having extended their agreement until "at least" the end of the 2026/27 season.

Home Kit

The 2026 home shirt features several design elements that supporters will recognise from previous seasons. The navy chest band, first seen on the 2014 home shirt, returns in a much deeper form, creating the impression that the Baxi logo dominates the shirt. In reality, the Baxi lettering is the same size as on recent shirts, it's simply an optical illusion created by the large navy panel.
The navy shoulder trim is another familiar feature, having appeared on a number of Oxford shirts over the years, particularly during the Puma era. The fold-over collar is reminiscent of the Umbro shirts worn during the 1980s , although the trim on the short sleeves feels out of place and doesn't quite complement the collar. The fabric also incorporates a subtle shadow pinstripe.
Perhaps the most pleasing detail is the club crest. Rather than the full badge, the kit proudly displays the iconic Minoan bull on its own, a feature that also carries onto the shorts.
Finally, for the first time since 2008, the home shirt is available with long sleeves.

Goalkeeper Kits
The new goalkeeper kits see the welcome return of long sleeve goalkeeper shirts.
Both feature a bold, jagged graphic overlaid with an organic texture that, on closer inspection, resembles the natural markings found on fish skin.
They look superb and, with such complementary designs, could even inspire a goalkeeper kit mash-up.

Pre-season Kits
Although released in March 2026, the limited-edition In Bloom shirt carries over into the 2026/27 season, following the club's earlier announcement that it would be worn by the first team during the summer period.
The full kit made its on-pitch debut in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Wealdstone.
For the first 'proper' pre-season game at Aldershot Town, the team wore the 2025 third kit, minus any secondary sponsors. The shirts and shorts featured the EFL number sets.
