EFL Branding

The EFL numbers and lettering were refreshed with a new stencil-style font.

The sleeve patches were also given an update, with a simpler shape.

The EFL’s ‘Not Today or Any Day’ campaign logo was featured below the sleeve patch, reinforcing the message that discrimination in any form will not be tolerated across the league. Oxford adopted them from the fourth match of the season.

Once again, Puma provided Oxford United with a unique crew-neck shirt, featuring subtle patterning within the fabric (it is illustrated, but you'll need to zoom in to see it).

However, just like previous seasons, the Puma kit followed a similar template to those worn by other EFL clubs.

The socks featured the Minoan Ox symbol on the calf.

The "Headington United inspired" away kit bore a strong resemblance to the one-off strip worn for the club's 125th Anniversary in 2018.

Choosing 'Golden Poppy' as the away colours seemed bizarre, considering Oxford could not wear yellow or orange against Blackpool, Burton, Hull and Shrewsbury. This limitation prompted the introduction of a third kit, which ended up being used far more frequently than this away strip.

The white third shirt was a standard Puma template called 'Cup'. This rather uninspiring design was saved by a small piece of interesting detailing featuring Puma's flux pattern on a chest panel.

Goalkeeper Kits

Puma's goalkeeper kits were straight 'off-the-shelf' and featured an eye-catching hexagonal design on the front panel. This 'Final Graphic' template was used by all professional clubs wearing Puma.

For the first time, the keeper shirts were short-sleeved, with Puma producing optional base layers in the same colour.

Remembrance / FA Cup Shirts

The remembrance weekend coincided with the FA Cup. Again, the common poppy motif was featured on the player's chest.

The shirts featured a single Emirates FA Cup competition patch on the right sleeve, which allowed teams the opportunity to secure additional sponsorship on the left sleeve. However, no sponsor was obtained due to the absence of crowds and no TV coverage.

The FA Cup had a rebrand for 2020, resulting in a larger rectangle sleeve patch.

League Trophy Shirts

Oxford once again enjoyed a prolonged run in the EFL Trophy. The semi-final game against Tranmere was broadcast live on Sky Sports. The match shirts featured Papa John's competition patches.

The left sleeve saw additional sponsorship from Hertfordshire-based EB Charging, who go on to become the main shirt sponsor the following season.
